Journal #4 Imagiphor-Spring Break

Instructions

1. The first image is ICONIC of your break...that is, if you could sum up your entire 2 weeks in one photo, what would it be?

2. The second is a VISUAL METAPHOR - find a photo that could be a metaphor for something - for example, an abstract concept like "hope", "resilience", "fear", or "love". Visual metaphors have no right or wrong, as long as you are able to defend why it is so.

3. The third image is a VISUAL METAPHOR RELATED to the LITERATURE WE ARE STUDYING - you could choose something that relates to a character or an idea / theme in the work. For example, something that's a metaphor for "ambition" (Macbeth) or an image that's a metaphor for "isolation" (Kokoro)

Over spring break, my family and I went to New York. In New York City, we visited a really big M&M’s shop. The shop was at least 4 stories tall that you had to use an escalator to reach each floor. This kind of sums up how New York is out of the box in a good way. New York City has the biggest stores in the country such as Uniqlo, Macy’s, and M&M’s. I was fortunate to visit the M&M shop, knowing that this might be a once in a lifetime experience.

In this picture, it shows a pigeon sitting over a ledge of what is one of the tallest buildings in the nation; the Empire State Building. This picture shows the pigeon being fearless. I think that this shows fearless since the pigeon doesn’t seem to care that he is 1,000 feet up in the air. I was scared when I looked outside the building, and we had a fence to protect us!

Image 3

This picture relates to Lady Macbeth. In the play, Lady Macbeth is looking over her castle, and how she is plotting her evil things. In this picture, it shows Lady Liberty looking over the city.
